| Success Story | We use KDE since 1.0 on all office and development workstations and notebooks (Celeron 400 up to Athlon 1200). The desktop is easy to use and powerfull for all users. There were no problems for former Windows users. From KDE we use KMail, Konqueror, KOrganizer, Quanta+ and KDevelop. As non KDE applications we use Applixware Office and Gimp. Only for accounting a single Windows workstation is in use until we'll find a good an payables solution for Linux. The workstations are served from several servers (databases, nfs, samba, nis, internet access, fax, intranet mail) all running SuSE Linux 7.2. The whole network ist running fast and reliably. There are no great problems to report. Since the use of Linux and KDE on the workstations nearly no support was needed from the useser (only after updates). All users can work as they have never done with windows. No reinstallation, no system crash. |
